soulmate

You don't always marry your soulmate.
Heard this on TV tonight. Is that true? I can't imagine how it can be called a marriage if your wife or husband is not your soulmate. So marriage is simply a way to procreate? But to procreate doesn't necessarily need to be married. I don't get it.

Interesting thought.

"Soul mate is one of two persons compatible with each other in disposition, point of view, or sensitivity."

I guess depending on how 'compatible' means. I don't think two people have to share the same point of view, but they should be willing to learn from the other view. I would hate to have someone who thinks the same as me, want a bit of difference in life so my view will be broadened.

yeah, I agree with you.

Though, I do think that "compatible" doesn't means being exactly the same.

So what really is a soul mate? How to justify if someone is your soul mate?

To me, soul mate is someone who knows your soul.

I think it's hard to find soul mate of the opposite sex. Two people sorta have to grow into it. One will not fully understand another person unless they are totally honest with each other, and this kind of honesty is very hard to find.

:> o well...I think people may be varies numbers of "soul mates" in a life time. Depending on the situations and the chemistry, "soul mates" could be your best friends.
