Took my parents shopping yesterday... found a really good deal for an ice-cream maker attachment set (to the kitchen-aid mixer I have). Only $20... freeze mixing bowl + drive assembly + ice-cream scoop. I just looked up Amazon... the same unit being sold for $80. Unbelievable!
Anyway, I put the freeze bowl in the freezer last night. So earlier today, I bought some heavy whip cream and milk... With the powder mix that came with the set, I made ICE-CREAM! It was soooo easy. Just let it stir for 25 minutes... you get a soft ice-cream (like frozen custard). Now the ice-cream is in freezer... it should be ready for dinner dessert. Haha ha....

Wah! You got to let me know if it's good or not! I gotta get one of these icecream maker myself.
oh the ice-cream was soooo good. I did put too much heavy cream in it though. Too fattening... ha ha. You should get an ice-cream maker yourself.
hmm.. i remember the first ice-cream i made (or not only first, my ONLY home made ice-cream in my entire life) was made when i was having my AP Chemistry class in 11th grade (as part of the experiment!) hahaha.. i still remember some dude actually brought some ALCOHOL hahahah
anyway, all i remember is that the "homemade" one isn't as "smooth" as those commercial one - tasted more like a sorbet hmm.. maybe not enough milk? too much ice? anyway, so what's the new flavors you've tested out?
surprisingly the ice-cream I made was really creamy. I was really happy with it... except that I used too much heavy cream.
I haven't made another batch since. I'll try strawberries next.
我又要食...
