A futile attempt to take a nap
Haven't slept well for the past couple of nights. Got back from church this morning and tried to take a nap. But my head was just full of ....., so with my eyes closed, I probably lay there in my bed for an hour.
I count 'numbers' and keep telling myself to 'go to sleep'. You can drink milk, or honey, or take a bath (with Lavender oil essence, which could help you to relax).
it's not so much getting to sleep per se. it's the quality of the sleep. if there's something that would shut down my brain. i think i'll give it a try.
JC, how about you write down all your thoughts, and then your brain can rest. I mean, I could not fall asleep sometimes because I was "thinking" about the next day(s) scheduled work activity. But then, I think other stuff, you can write down your thoughts, or use a recorder to record your thought ... and once it's down, head to bed, bury your head into pillows ... and zzz ...
wittybb, I do that. I write... I write down all my thoughts these days. They are irrational and doesn't make sense even to myself. And the worst thing is that I can't share those thoughts... for they may ruin the future. *sigh.... patience patience patience. gotta work on that virtue.

You can count ducks, sheeps, etc., to get you to sleep.
